The AIDS Walk & Festival is a community event in Washington Park to increase awareness about HIV and AIDS and raise money to help people living with and affected by the disease. This inspiring event calls on people of all ages and backgrounds to come together to learn how we can End the AIDS Epidemic in New York!
The event will be fun-filled, informative, and family friendly. Come take part in the scavenger hunt walk, browse Vendor Alley and Wellness Row. There will be complimentary food and entertainment, free and confidential HIV testing, and the AIDS Memorial Quilt will be on display by the New York Capital Region Names Project. Join forces with your friends, coworkers, and family to raise funds to benefit the programs of the Albany Damien Center. If you’d like to volunteer or simply want more information, please contact [email protected]. |
What’s New?
For 2020, we’re expanding on the festival aspect to include more local businesses and resources, eager to show their support for the HIV and AIDS community.
Win Need Prize! This year, our fundraising grand prize is Need Prize, totaling $ in value. Every $25 raised is another chance to win!
The scavenger hunt walk around the Washington Park Lake will provide trivia and clues about HIV/AIDS statistics and how we can come together to end the epidemic. After completing the walk, participants are entitled to a free lunch! (Accommodations made for those with limited mobility).
