Fundraising Tips:

Personalize Your Fundraising Page: Adding a photo and customizing the importance of the Walk help show potential contributors that the cause is meaningful to you.

Set a Fundraising Goal: Setting an achievable (but challenging!) goal can boost donations by allowing folks to see the target you have in mind. It’s rewarding for contributors to visualize their impact via the goal progress bar. If you hit your goal faster than you expected, don’t be afraid to bump it up!

Donate to Yourself: Donating to yourself shows others that you mean business.

Try Asking for Set Amounts: You’re more likely to receive $25 donations if you ask specifically for donations of $25. Think of equal value items to help contributors visualize their donation. A single forgettable lunch or a few drinks out, or an impactful contribution to help others in the community.

Share Your Page: Let your goals be known! Talk with friends and family about the event and why it’s important to you and the community. Maybe they’ll even want to register to attend as well.

Invite Others: Invite friends and family to join you at the AIDSWalk & Festival! Remember, it’s a great family afternoon outing with entertainment, local businesses, education, and a free hot lunch. Day-of registrations and in-person donations are accepted for raffle entry!

Use our Social Media Graphics Kit: We've created multiple social media graphics that are easily shareable on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter! Download them here.

Lastly, don’t forget to have fun! Understanding the beneficial resources that the Damien Center provides and how you are directly contributing to that effort exudes excitement, and excitement is contagious. The AIDS Walk & Festival aims to be a unique, educational, and exciting event that increases inter-community engagement and support for those affected by HIV and AIDS. We’re grateful for and so glad to have you.
