Hello, and thank you for choosing the Albany Damien Center as your non-profit of choice!
Donate
The Albany Damien Center continues to evolve with your help to meet the needs of people living with HIV/AIDS and their loved ones. Our new building at 728 Madison Avenue provides permanent supporting housing for 22 chronically homeless people living with HIV/AIDS and a permanent “post-fire home” for our Damien Center programs and agency staff.

We have experienced (and numerous studies have shown) that housing is healthcare, especially for people with HIV/AIDS. Without housing, a person simply cannot take their medications, access medical and other supportive services that are lifesaving. We also continue to see the physical, mental, and spiritual impact our programs and caring staff and volunteers have on each person and their loved ones as we provide our services in a trauma-informed, caring environment that is homey (and never institutional).

Facing barriers from HIV stigma, isolation, and poverty, our members struggling with HIV and AIDS receive
crucial services in the form of:
  • Nutrition education combined with home cooked meals, pantry bags full of fresh fruits, vegetables,  meats, and food gift cards to supermarkets through Smart Meals
  • Housing assistance through Foundations for Living
  • Pet support and love from PAWS (Pets Are Wonderful Support)
  • Prevention and access to care and PrEP from Mpower Albany
  • Support, socialization, and love from our Living Room open weekdays from 8 AM to 6:30 PM

Your charitable gifts allow us to continue to deliver our life enhancing services as we enter this period of growth & transition.

You are our partner in our mission to enhance the lives of people affected by HIV/AIDS in an affirming environment and to reduce new infections in the communities we serve.

I sincerely thank each of you for your continued love and support.

Perry Junjulas
Executive Director & Person with AIDS (who first came to the Damien Center back in 1995 to receive help)
