Communities of Faith

Thank you for all you do to help people in need in our community. Communities of faith like have been a tremendous help to us at the Albany Damien Center as we serve over 400 people with HIV/AIDS annually throughout the upstate NY region.

Though we have had many medial successes in helping people live longer with HIV/AIDS, poverty, homelessness, hunger, mental health, trauma, and stigma continue to create formidable barriers for each individual and family struggling with HIV/AIDS to get access to the medical and supportive services they desperately need to survive AIDS and have quality of life.

Our mission is to enhance the lives of people affected by HIV/AIDS in an affirming environment and to reduce new HIV infections in the communities we serve. Our vision is a community where people with HIV and AIDS achieve their desired potential and are respected as coworkers, neighbors, and friends, while striving for an HIV free generation.

The Damien Center began back in 1988 as a ministry program through local churches and that spirit of mission-centered compassion continues guiding us to this day. As this year ends and plans for 2019 are being made, we ask your mission committee to consider the Albany Damien Center as recipients of your kindness, love, and compassion.

We would like to speak with you about ways we can work together to help in our community. Please call us at 518-449-7119 or email PerryJ@AlbanyDamienCenter.org.
