When: Thursday September 22nd, 2022

Where: The Century House located at 997 Loudon Rd, Latham, NY, 12110

What:

The Hero Awards recognizes an individual or organization who has done extraordinary things to improve the lives of persons with HIV & AIDS in our local community and promote HIV awareness to stop the spread of HIV.

We would like to thank all of our returning 2021 supporters who like us have waited expectantly for the day where we could again gather to celebrate a Hero!

Our 2021 Hero is Benita Zahn!

We are thrilled to be honoring Benita who through her continued focus on HIV/AIDS-related issues has been integral to keeping this public health pandemic at the forefront.

Among her many accomplishments, Benita spent more than 40 years as a health reporter and news anchor at WNYT in Albany, NY. She has won numerous accolades for her work including International Radio and Television Awards, a NY Emmy, a NYS Broadcaster Award, and the recognition of several health organizations.

All proceeds go to the Albany Damien Center to support our many life-saving programs.
